Marriage Monday: Bridal (Planning) Bliss

After getting engaged last October, I waited a few months before diving into the wedding planning because I was just too busy with my job and circumstances and life in general... But now that we've moved, I've quit my job, and everything is in order, it's full on wedding planning season around here... And since I do have time on my hands, and my parents do to (they have generously offered to pay for the wedding! =D) we're DIYing a lot of the wedding to save money... It seems silly to waste so much when we have the time on our hands and after all, who knows better what I want for my wedding than me =P

Each week I'm planning to divulge a little bit of wedding stuffs, tips, tricks and a general 'where we're at' countdown to the big day in August! Naturally, no pics of me in my dress, or me in a wedding dress at all for the sake of my wonderful fiance, who has expressed a desire to not see me in a white gown until August 27... I find that so romantic, so I figure I can definitely fulfill that request =D

So far the biggest obstacles have been the fact that I live here in Alabama, where we're having the wedding, but my parents live in Mississippi... Makes planning a little tough, especially with how visual I am, I don't understand things over the phone very well haha... Still, we've got a lot of the big decisions made, but still loads of details still to figure out! It's going to be a fabulous 5 months, I've got loads of resources like theknot.com and even a site dedicated just to vendors near me, alabamabridal.com!

Ultimately though, it's not really about the wedding, it's about our marriage! =D It's so fabulous that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with my muscle man, well if I don't drive him crazy with nuptial nuances first! haha in all seriousness though, I am so glad to find someone who accepts all my silly, geeky ways, and compliments me very nicely =) He has already been incredibly supportive, encouraging me to leave my last job when it was quite literally killing me... We could really have used the money, but he assured me we would be fine with just one income, no matter how long it took to find a better job. And he's meant it, by his request, I've only applied for jobs that would be a promotion for me, and ones with decent hours as well... Yeah, he's definitely a keeper hehe!
