Project 27: 365 Extras: Tree Trimming!

This week me and the Muscle Man decorated our first tree together! hehe how romantic! He provided the tree and I already had just about everything else...

Hallmark loves me...and my pocketbook

As my mom pointed out to me on the phone the other day while she was out holiday shopping, it's sorta her tradition to get me a Star Wars Hallmark ornament (or two or three in past years! lol depends on the designs, this year I'm not loving any of them really) So yeah, needless to say I have loads of Star Wars ornaments on my tree!! And the organized fan that I am, I keep them all in their boxes in the off seasons =P

You underestimate... My Tree Decorating Skills!

We finally got around to putting some ornaments on the tree, we had to start with lots of Christmas balls to kinda fill in the little tree, we pulled it out of the box and the Muscle Man says it looks all pathetic like the Charlie Brown tree =P So it might have been a little sparse, but luckily I've got enough tree trimming crap to fill out even the most bare tree! I even used to have some pine needle garland for a particularly bare tree I used to own, but somehow that tree and the garland have disappeared... Oh well this tree is more awesome! It's got colored lights hehe...

The dog was a little less than excited about all this fuss =P He was already mad at me for pulling out the white vinyl because he didn't like walking on it... Well at least we don't have to worry about putting up a pet fence around the tree, this dog is scared of just about everything, and judging by how many ornaments make noise and terrify him (and you know we had to set off each one right near his face, just to make sure he was scared of them, right? We're such mean pet owners hehe) we have nothing to worry about as far as the dog and the tree go...

So needless to say, not everything on the tree is Star Wars.. I've also got plenty of Disney touches on there, plus a few random ornaments that aren't either if you can believe that! I particularly love the little Mickey and Minnie chef ones, Minnie is totally my cooking muse, I cook like Minnie Mouse all cutesy but not terribly talentey... lol minnie's always burning things or dropping stuff on the floor =P Or at least in my childhood memories of Mickey cartoons where Minnie bakes that's what I remember hehe...

Our Tree is just missing one little detail, a topper! I've never bothered with a topper, I just never felt like buying one, and never saw one I liked that much... But as the Muscle Man pointed out, we kinda need one, so we're going to get one together this weekend or whenever we wind up shopping next... It was quite a fun experience, putting up the tree together and then chilling out for a nice homecooked dinner... What a fun evening!
