Firework Fun: Selfie Saturday

I absolutely adore having a birthday so close to 4th of July, because I get to have fireworks for my birthday if I choose! =D Which, of course, makes for fabulous photos! So after a fun day hanging out with my fiance I figured I would break out the sparklers for some pretty pictures. Sparklers are by far my favorite thing to play with fireworks related, since they are very hands on and they last much longer than a little bang (or big bang) from a firework. Plus, very visual, which was fabulous for me even before I started taking pictures =P

I only had a few sparklers left over from new years, so it looks like a trip to the fireworks stand is in store before the weekend is over! The pack I had was a mix of the colored sparklers, which aren't that spectacular, and the gold ones, which are super pretty, but they seem to be more dangerous as they spew out little golden sparks everywhere =P And with no way to tell which was which, I just pulled them out and clicked away! The one above is a red sparkler, and made the most beautiful smoke trails! I'm so glad the porch light caught the smoke =) But it's just not as cool as the golden ones...

The little sparks were flying everywhere! So pretty! I was lucky enough to get a nice little sequence I could use for this week's Selfie Saturday Challenge over at Selfie Magic, I've made gifs before, but this method is so much easier!

As for me and my birthday weekend, it's still going strong! That's another benefit of having a birthday so close to a holiday, you don't have to try to cram all the birthday fun and friends into just one day! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend, I know I am! =D
