Geeky Girl: I got the Disney bug, bad (part 3)

I'm working on getting rid of this pesky desire for an expensive trip to Disney World by showcasing some of my favorite parts of my time in Orlando! Be sure to check out the other installations first!
Part 1:Here
Part 2: Here

Last but certainly not least in this little trip around the (Disney) World is of course the Magic Kingdom!

Part 3: When you Wish Upon a Star

(Major photo overload here, so click the pics to view them larger!)

Naturally, no list of favorite Disney things would be complete without mentioning fireworks! During my college program, I would volunteer to work the last shift outside (no one ever wanted to go outside, it was hot and there were usually more complaining people outside because of long lines, early closing times, you name it haha) but I loved working the last shift outside because it meant I could watch Wishes!

My second time around, I always had the inside scoop on when something fabulous was going to happen, between myself working for special events and my roommates who worked in entertainment, we always knew when to go to see great fireworks with very little crowds! (ie watching the 4th of July Fireworks on July 3, or working when a private group had fireworks at Hollywood Studios) I'm very much jaded now when it comes to fireworks, I've seen so many fantastic fireworks!

I've also watched fireworks literally from my bedroom, haha! While I no longer worked at Space Mountain, I could still enjoy Wishes every night, all I had to do was open my window, turn my ipod on at the right time, and enjoy! Yup, totally spoiled...

I really enjoy just about everything about the Magic Kingdom, right down the the Monorail ride from the parking lot to the front entrance!

Magic Kingdom has way too many fun attractions and rides, my favorite obviously has to go to Space Mountain though, it just has a special little place in my heart haha! But I adore Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Mickey's Philharmagic, Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and those are just a few!

I also adore eating at Magic Kingdom, the Confectionery is so amazing! I love the fresh Rice Krispie treats, I swear they taste better than the pre-packaged ones you can get around property! And they're actually affordable =P And then right down the street is the Ice Cream Parlor, and then right over the bridge there are funnel cakes! Most of the other food is pretty standard at the Magic Kingdom, but the sweets definitely make it worth it!

And to finish up my Magic Kingdom tour, of course there has to be a parade! And working there, if I wanted to go to watch the parade, I did it right and showed up early enough to get a good spot! Well worth waiting for =)

But overall, the best part of living and working in Disney had to be going to the parks all the time with my friends!! I especially miss the calls at 5pm from my bestie saying 'hey I'm hungry, let's go to Japan for dinner' lol!

  1. I love this series of posts! I adore Disney! I remember when I was in the army and stationed in Georgia. Friends and I would take trips to Disney World since it was only a few hours drive away. I remember so enchanted by it all. I remember wishing that I could just live there. LOL

Thank you so much for sharing this! It brought back some wonderful memories for me!

Oh, BTW, I'm primowalker on deviantart. :)
