Why the .com? (project27photography.com, to be exact! Bookmark it! Now!) Because after doing this photography thing for 4 years, and contracting and outsourcing to various people, I realized this experience is vastly underpromoted on my resume and professional dealings. Since I've never considered it more than a hobby, despite making money, I just never felt a need to 'go-pro' and have an official website. But now, after job searching for way too long and being denied interviews due to my lack of experience, I am quite fed up! I have plenty of experience, but because of my honesty I am unable to get my foot in the door for a proper interview to show off my skills and land a job.
So following the wedding, I'll be updating the resume to more properly reflect my actual skills, rather than just my education and corporate jobs, and adding an entry dedicated to all the responsibilities that Project27 has taught me! I still haven't decided if I'm going to phrase it that I've been 'employed' with Project27 since 2007, when I started doing a daily self-portrait, or if I'm going to put the starting date more around late 2010, when I had to leave my previous job (stupid mono!)... Either way, by putting all these experiences on paper, it should help me get a full time position where I am not my own boss, which has never been a real desire of mine. Don't get me wrong, I adore photography, graphic and web design, and marketing, but going full time for myself? Not really a priority for me... I'll just keep that as a hobby, thankyouverymuch!
