Me Then, Me Now: Selfie Saturday

After having so much fun last week at Selfie Magic that I figured I'd join in this week as well =) This week's challenge was 'me then, me now', and even though I was at home for the weekend and had loads of kid pictures at my disposal (we took several pics of both me and the muscle man as kids to our wedding shower even =P) I was too busy to take advantage of any of the locations around my house, and 90% of my kid photos are very location dependent... My mom just wasn't a huge portrait person, she took way more full body shots than anything else... still does actually haha!

In any case, since we were driving back Monday, I thought how fun would it be to re-do a shot I did a couple of years ago as my daily shot that my muscle man really likes. It's one of the few shots from my 365's that he's commented on out of the blue... It requires location as well, but we were going to be headed by that location on the way home =D I took some artistic liberties on the challenge, I decided rather than recreate the shot exactly I'd do a 'my life then, my life now' take on the challenge! Plus with no printer in the car, I just kinda winged it on the angle, I forgot the original shot was waist up, but still, the spirit is there!

Yay for my fabulous muscle man! What picture of 'me now' would be complete without him? It was absurdly hot and bright outside, so we didn't get a perfect shot, but at least he pulled his sunglasses off for a few frames (he has crazy sensitive eyes, so I wasn't complaining that his glasses were still at the ready on top of his head =P) I'm so glad he's getting more used to being in my daily pics, it's nice to have a subject when I'm framing haha!

  4. I love how you recreated this! It would be really cool if every few years you went back and did the same thing just to see how you've changed over the years!
