Monday Confessions: Level 2 Nerd Alert

So yes, Wednesdays are usually reserved for the geek thing, but today I thought I'd throw out a little confession about just exactly how geeky I am... And the answer is, not that much... I'm just a really specific geek =P If you're asking about Star Wars or Disney, I'm so there... Anything else and I'm kinda out of the loop... I mean I know these things exist, but really that's about as far as it goes...

Take, for instance, this weekend... Me and the fiance went to Chattanooga for a convention (think comic con, but way smaller... and no industry people there haha!) And I wound up with a whopping 2 photos taken with my camera (ok technically it was like 10, but that's because my muscle man was using the camera and I didn't trust him so I made him keep snapping)

Now don't get me wrong, there was a lot of cool stuff going on at that convention, but none of it was really up my alley, so I didn't see the point in getting photos of costumes I'm not into, I just admired them and then kept walking... And all the Star Wars costumes were people I've already got pictures with besides these two, lol! Same goes for the dealer's room, I don't think I've ever bought anything at a convention dealer's room! There's tons of amazing stuff there, I'm just not a fan of whatever genre it is they have stuff for, and I'm not a huge collector of Star Wars toys.... I passed by so many awesome steampunk, comic, and fairy booths this weekend drooling, but I mean really, what am I going to do with that stuff? Same goes for the panels, yeah I've watched one or two episodes of some of these shows, but if I go to a panel I'm going to be so lost it's not even funny, I was even lost during the Star Wars vs. Star Trek debate! That one was just because I've never seen Star Trek, despite trying I just can not sit for an hour without getting bored with that show...

But to save my geek street cred, you ask me about Star Wars (the movies, I'm only slightly into the EU stuff) and I'm so there... In fact the muscle man and I decided to watch one of the movies again the other night, neither of us have seen a Star Wars film in years, I've watched them all so many times I can practically recite them word for word haha! Same goes for Disney flicks, but those seem easier to watch over and over despite knowing all the words, I think it's the fun songs that just pull me in time after time =P I guess I'm just a picky geek, I've only got time to dedicate to so much dorkiness lol!
